Raised in the second city of Birmingham, Mel Grace's journey to become a presenter has proven itself more likely than ever. Having a passion for rap/ UK music, great charisma and leaving her mark everywhere she's been, tells us why Mel is certainly one to watch.

Mel has always said she wants to use her voice and platforms to help push midlands and northern based artists.

Within a short time of her presenting experience, Mel has done a series of interviews with artists big and small around the country, ranging from street reactions, in-depth formal interviews to radio interviews and funny challenges with some unforgettable names. At 18 years old Mel had won an internship at Westside Radio to train up with Rebecca Judd, making it her first experience on a DAB station.

From the start of her career Mel has always been eager for finding new music and talent, this began in 2019 with her residency at Newstyle Radio 98.7fm having the 'DRIVETIME SHOW' weekly. With a lot of support from the station Mel would bring in Birminghams hottest and upcoming artists, getting some exclusive plays, and for some being their first radio play. Mel has built a great relationship with artists and industry heads in Birmingham gaining great support overall. Alongside with radio Mel worked with the channel 'DoesItBang?' which worked on her on screen skills showing more of Mel's personality and confidence. Working with DoesItBang brought great opportunities interviewing the likes of; Charlie Sloth, Samm Henshaw, Ambush but also bringing those presenting skills to audiences, by going out to interview by standers getting their authentic reactions and opinions.

Over recent month's Mel has expanded into other roles in the music industry, taking up assistant/admin work for music manager Jess Monroe and record label LCM/ Rattrap. Mel has gained a great deal of experience with music video production, artist management, A&R and PR. Working behind the scenes for Mel has had great benefits of building relationships with people in the industry and creating a respectable repertoire to hopefully go back to in the future. Not only that but seeing and understanding the process of music/ artists gives Mel more knowledge as presenter as to what artists deal with and how they are created.

During lockdown there was a lot of restraints in terms of in person interviews and going to radio, this caused the birth of 'Top3wMelGrace' creating weekly content of new music that had been released, putting this out on social platforms and involving guests like DJs and music tastemakers. This brought a lot of attraction for Mel gaining thousands of views, the success lead to Mel having a segment on BBC WM weekly announcing the newest tracks via Rakeem Omar's show.

Keeping to Mel's heightening experiences and platforms, in the last 4 months Mel has been able to move down to London to grow further and build more of a name for her self in the presenting world. Through great connections Mel has recently joined the team of 'THE BEAT 103.6fm' and is starting her own specialist show to continue the introduction of midlands and northern music. Moving to London has been a large reset for Mel but is set to be a great journey.
